NATIONAL AWARD
Neil
Percival was named winner of the Toyota
National Skills Technician's award in
Sydney. After a long testing process,
both
online from Tanunda and in Sydney, he
defeated four other finalists from
around Australia to secure the win.
First
prize was a plaque, a perpetual trophy
which will reside at Barossa Valley
Toyota for 12 months and most exciting
of all, a
study tour to Japan next year.
He will
also be inducted into the 2009
International Assembly of customer
service champions. It was a complex
process
which saw
Neil named the winner.
The
competition, open to all Toyota
technicians from around Australia began
with on-line exams from within
dealerships
around the
country. Testing measured each
technician's use of computer skills and
ability to use the Toyota system to
locate
and fix
diagnostic issues. After being named the
SA Regional winner, Neil went to Sydney
for the 2008 National Skills development
program
finals with nine different categories.
Neil said
the challenge to better himself has been
the motivation to participate in the
National Skills competition.
